| What is the role of the Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd? |
i. The Malaysian government has established the MDeC as the agency responsible for overseeing MSC Malaysia implementation, to ensure that MSC Malaysia achieves its objectives and working with companies to set up their operations there.
ii. In overseeing MSC Malaysia, the MDeC will market MSC Malaysia globally; shape MSC Malaysia-specific laws, policies and practices by advising the Malaysian government; and set standards for MSC Malaysia's information infrastructure and urban development
iii. In working with companies to set up their operations in MSC Malaysia, the MDeC will serve as champion, facilitator, and partner. The MDeC's mission is to ensure that interested investors (MSC Malaysia-status companies) get what they need to succeed. As a performance -oriented, client-focused agency, it will cut through red tape to provide information and advice on MSC Malaysia, expedite permit and license approvals (Facilitation), and introduce companies to potential local partners and financiers (ACCESS). |

| Does the MDeC focus primarily on attracting foreign companies? |
i. MSC Malaysia is designed to attract both Malaysian and foreign companies.
ii. If MSC Malaysia were to create value for Malaysia, we must attract world-leading companies that are willing to make MSC Malaysia their regional hub.
iii. The presence of these pre-eminent companies in MSC Malaysia will catalyse a highly competitive cluster of Malaysian multimedia/IT companies that may become world-class over time. This, in turn will help Malaysia enhance its domestic productivity and achieve Vision 2020. |
