Q.
What are the MSC Malaysia-designated Cybercities?
  • Cyberjaya (cybercity designated as the National ICT Centre)
  • Technology Park Malaysia
  • UPM-MTDC
  • KLCC
  • Menara KL
  • Penang Cybercity 1
  • Kulim High Tech Park
Q.
We are an MSC Malaysia-status company and need to rent office space of about 550 sqf in Cyberjaya. The office that we booked in TPM is too big for our operation at this stage. Our present tenancy agreement is expiring at the end of next month. Do we have the priority to rent a smaller lot in Cyberjaya?

Small offices of less than 1,000 sqf in Century Square, Cyberjaya have all been taken up. However, there may be recently vacated units or units released from previous bookings. For enquiries, contact Pauline of Setia Haruman at 03-76256213.

In the event there are smaller lots available, prospective tenants/co-tenants must act very quickly as small units are taken up within days once they become available. It is advised that companies requiring small office lots take up an office of any size first, then rent out the excess space later.

Q.
Why must we relocate to the designated cybercities?

Locating the MSC Malaysia-status company's headquarters and /or principal work activities of the MSC Malaysia-qualifying activities in an MSC Malaysia-designated cybercity within six months from the date of the approval Cyberjaya, is one of the conditions imposed to MSC Malaysia-status companies to maintain this preferential status.

MSC Malaysia-status companies are also ensured of full benefits of Bill of Guarantee no. 1 by residing in one of the designated cybercities. These cybercities offer the conducive IT and multimedia environment that will attract and retain the knowledge community.

Besides that, companies located in the designated cybercities can benefit from the most advanced telecommunication technologies with 99.9% guaranteed reliability - where service disruptions will not exceed 43 minutes per month.
