Development of a Modular Triple Play Networked Set Top Box
Project Brief

The project aims to design and develop a Modular Triple Play Set Top Box (STB) that is capable of functioning as a digital media content gateway that can eliminate use of the PC as the central delivery medium.

The proposed STB is a flexible modular architecture that can be upgraded or customized to suit the needs of end users. STB's base features will include the following:
1. Development of DVB-T and DVB-S decoder
2. Development of digital video recorder
3. Development of digital video up-scaling (upscale from standard TV resolution to HDTV resolution)
4. Development of build in expansion slots (i.e. USB 2.0, Ethernet RJ-45 connection, HSS, Mini PCI)
