Do we have freedom to import duty free equipment and computers for the Animation facility?
Yes , this is applicable to all companies with MSC Malaysia status, for Animation facility, you would need to specify what type, amount and ensure that these equipment is for your approved MSC Malaysia activities use.
 
Q.
Manpower & Skilled Workers - studios will require skilled animators, producers doing high-end work; if these expertise are not readily available, and we need to bring-in 50-60 skilled animators for the project; can MSC Malaysia facilitate their visa and entry permits?
Yes, should these skilled workers qualify for the definitions of MSC Malaysia Knowledge Workers, the MDEC is able to assist the entry and work permits of such workers through our facilitation department, MSC Malaysia Management Services.

Is there any policy or ruling on ability to import, edit and re-exporting back of film modules that undergo enhancements, reworking or editing from an MSC Malaysia-status com
MSC Malaysia-status companies whose activities have been approved to such work, should have no worries on regulatory policies to sending back materials made for enhancements, edits or re-colouring from MSC Malaysia.

Funds Repatriation - foreign skilled workers would like to remit their earnings back to home, is there any regulations or ruling acting against it?
No, for MSC Malaysia-status companies, remitting earnings or profits from dues made from activities in MSC Malaysia is not scrutinised by the Foreign Direct Investment Committe

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (formerly known as Multimedia Development Corporation) a unique organization established to direct and oversee MSC Malaysia, the national ICT development initiative, by advising the Malaysian Government on legislation and policies, developing industry-specific practices and setting the standards for multimedia and digital operations. MDEC is also responsible for promoting MSC Malaysia locally and globally, whilst providing strategic support to MSC Malaysia Status Companies.
