Sprocketpunk Sdn Bhd

East Malaysia's first MSC-status company and Borneo's premier video game development studio, Sprocketpunk was established in 2013 with its founders having backgrounds in software development, games media, writing, and digital art.

The studio is working on its first title, Shiftling. The essence of Shiftling is not only about the process of discovery, but the process of creation. A cinematic platforming adventure, the game follows the journey of Nadine Tagal, a young woman who, after discovering a mysterious mark on her hand, is forced to traverse a world of intrigue and shape-shifters to find answers that hold the key to her survival. The first installment of Shiftling spans twenty-six chapters of gameplay, venturing into five unique settings, complete with elements influenced by Malaysian Borneo's geography and cultural traditions.

Shiftling is an ambitious first title. Bucking the trend of cookie-cutter mobile and online games, Sprocketpunk set out to make a title that showcases its core strengths -- narrative driven gameplay and illustrative visual style -- and targeting an international community of gamers, epitomized by the vibrant console gaming community. Our staff has been focused on adapting its years of experience in programming, digital art, animation, and sound to the craft of game design.
