MSC Malaysia Capability Development Programme
In an increasingly demanding, competitive and sophisticated global market, MSC Malaysia Capability Development Programme (CDP) is designed to help local ICT organisations to maximise their potentials by adopting global good practices and process improvements. CDP introduces a systematic approach in the delivery of products and services and prepares companies into the next phase of growth.

CDP's programmes to empower local companies are aimed at enabling them to focus on their core competency and hone their competitive edge. This is in line with the MSC Malaysia initiatives in catalysing wealth creation for the nation.

At present there are 11 organisational development programmes offered together with a new initiative for 		individual capability development launched early this year called the "Get IT Certified" campaign. This initiative focuses on improving the skills of ICT professionals in Malaysia in delivering world-class services.

CDP not only assists companies and individuals in achieving these certifications more cost-effectively (nearly 50% cost reduction) but it also enables additional benefits from monthly dialogues, seminars, clinics and workshops developed to gear the MSC Malaysia status companies to achieve certifications that would ensure business continuity.

CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes.

Introduction to the Programme:
The programme is specially designed to create awareness about the CMMI Model among the MSC Malaysia companies; with the ultimate goal of these companies to be successfully appraised with the CMMI Maturity Level Rating.
Benefit of the Programme
­ Able to participate in Awareness Talks and Seminars on various CMMI topics by expert speakers
­ Able to participate in Hands-on Workshops by expert trainers
­ Able to obtain up to RM 150,000 of financial assistance to complete the appraisals
­ Access to Expert Articles and Papers.
How It Works
The programme is open to all Malaysian-owned MSC Malaysia status companies. The programme will group participants under professional training and guidance. A panel of professional service providers will be provided by MDeC to facilitate, train and assist the participants in obtaining the CMMI® Certification.
Upon completion, programme participant is reimbursed 50% or maximum of RM 150,000 of total project cost, (whichever is lower) for Maturity Level 3 to 5 and 50% or maximum of RM 50,000 of total project cost (whichever is lower) for Maturity Level 2.

CDP Software Testing
The Solutions for Product Perfection

If you're looking for an easy, all in one solution to help test your new software product, the Solution Assessment & Development Centre (SADC) offers you a useful resource. It is a fully furnished test facility ready with network and communication infrastructure, as well as basic test equipment and software tools for conducting application testing. Proven test methodology and stringent quality measures for testing products are employed to enhance the quality of applications.

Testing new software applications thoroughly will ensure a smooth rollout of products. SADC's independent application verification will provide you with an objective, unbiased analysis. You will also be able to make use of scarce resources provided by the centre, as well as fill gaps in staff resource set skills with qualified and experienced testing personnel.

CDP Software Testing : STCD
This programme assists MSC Malaysia Status companies to help improve their capability on software testing in order to produce quality software products by adopting a structured software testing framework and global software testing best practices in the most comprehensive and cost-effective manner.

STCD Programme Details
The Software Testing Capability Development (STCD) programme is divided in 3 levels Learn, Apply and Graduate which has to be accomplished by STCD programme technology recipients and companies within stipulated time of 90 days from start to end.
STCD Programme Price is a reimbursment model of RM2500. Upfront payment of RM2500 will be required upon entering the programme and participating companies will be reimbused upon successful completion of the programme.
Options after the successful completion of the STCD Programme
­ SADC Performance Test Project: RM 15,000
­ Software Product Performance Certification (SPPC) Project: RM 1,500
The SADC Certification Programme was established to help companies to investigate and quantify attributes of the software by proven evaluation and certification methodologies and processes. The SADC Software Product Performance Certification (SPPC) programme is a performance testing certification programme, which quantifies the "Performance" quality attribute of the product.
Programme Objective
­ Increase in marketability of the product development by MSC Malaysia Status Companies
Note: During the Performance Test/Certification Project both parties will jointly work together and newly graduated STCD technology recipients would test their newly acquired skill and knowledge through STCD programme in a real life project under the watch full eyes of SADC Performance Test/Certification consultants.
CDP Software Testing : SPPC
Programme Details The following diagram summarizes the SPPC programme overview.
Plan Test
In the Plan Test phase, is to gather all relevant informations such as Test Requirements, Performance Standard of the Software Product for Certification.
Design Test
In the Design Test phase, is to develop a test design; this is the primary input for identifying the tests to perform (i.e to identify a set of testable test cases, test environment).
Implement Test
In the Implement Test phase, is to create reusable test scripts and maintain traceability of test implementation artifacts back to the associated test cases and requirements for test.
Execute Test
In the Execute Test phase, is for all plan test cases being executed as per the test design and all test results will be captured.
Evaluate Test
Result In the Evaluate Test Result phase, the test results of all executed test cases will be analyzed and to determine whether performance standard criteria was met for the certification of the Software Product.
Certified Software Product
Based from the evaluated test result the successful Software Product which has met the performance standard criteria will be certified of their performance which quantifies the "Performance" quality attribute of the product.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested Company must satisfy the following set of criteria in order to qualify for the Programme. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
­ Must be a MSC Malaysia Status Company / Organization
­ 51% Malaysian owned
­ Web-based applications only
­ Limited to 100VU and 10 test functions per certification
­ Must pass the viability test conducted on initial visit
Successful Company must be willing to participate in activities undertaken by MDeC in relation to capability development including surveys, benchmarking and community projects.
Programme Price for SPPC
Certification Programme: RM8,000 (Free for those certified in year 2007)
Re-certification: RM5,000
CDP Software Testing : Test Project
SADC offers testing services to Malaysian companies to help alleviate the Quality of their products. The test project helps the companies to quantitatively measure the products for functional, performance and reliability aspects. SADC provide in-depth assessment that opens the door for improvements and help reduce quality issues.

CDP Six Sigma
The Pursuit of `Zero Variation'
Six Sigma is a Management System for Improving Process Performance.
A rigorous and disciplined methodology that utilizes data and statistical analysis to measure and improve a company's operational performance, practices and systems and is popularly defined as a method to eliminate variation to customer requirements.
If you effectively eliminate this variation, you will in turn eliminate defects.

CDP ISMS
Protecting Your Most Valuable Assets

Gearing Towards International Standards

­ To provide a starting point for MSC Malaysia Status organisations towards achieving process excellence
­ To improve branding of MSC Malaysia products and services through globally recognised certification.
­ To assist MSC Malaysia Status organisations to adopt quality management standards practices as a tool to increase service delivery capabilities.
­ To provide assistance and incentives to MSC Malaysia Status organisations in implementing quality management standards.

CDP Showcase
To provide a suitable platform for the increasing number of MSC Malaysia companies for branding, showcasing and promoting their products to generate leads and to increase sales.

Programme Flow
1. This offer is to all MSC Malaysia companies and on the first come first serve basis
2. The interested MSC Malaysia company fills up the application form and submit to CDP Showcase Secretariat at MSC Malaysia Innovation Centre
3. MSC Malaysia Innovation Centre to discuss with the company on requirement to display and process the application (base on feasibility)
4. MSC Malaysia Innovation Centre to modify the kiosk and allocate/procure necessary gadgets for the display
5. The company to install its system for display
6. Participating companies have to brief MSC Malaysia Innovation Centre staff to enable them to provide first level product demo and briefing to visitors
7. Participating companies need to be present and provide second level support to high level delegation if requested
8. Each period of display is 4 months, it may be extended for another 4 months if no company is in the waiting queue
9. The company needs to uninstall and takes back its system within 7 days after the expiry date
CDP Professional Development (CDP PD)
Introduction
As the ICT industry continues to grow, the demand for skilled knowledge workers is increasing even more. ICT Professionals need to keep abreast with emerging technologies to remain competitive in the global market. Therefore, MDeC has launched the CDP Professional Development to enhance skills of local ICT knowledge workers.
Benefits
CDP Professional Development eases the burden of MSC Malaysia Status Organisation and its employees to take up professional certification and training courses by providing financial assistance.
Programme Objectives
Objectives of CDP Professional Development:
1. Increase competency and skills of local ICT knowledge workers.
2. Promote continuous improvement of capability and skills especially on emerging technologies and new good practices.
3. Create a bigger pool of multi skilled local ICT knowledge workers.
How It Works
The programme is open to all MSC Malaysia Status Organisations and its employees. Programme participants are to make own arrangements to undertake their chosen certification/training course and incentive will be disbursed upon successful completion. All certification/training courses must be listed in CDP Professional Development Approved List.
