Content development in the global and regional context
According to New Report by Global Industry Analyst, Inc, "Global. Content Delivery Network (CDN) market to reach US$4.7 Billion by 2015". It was also stated that Asia-Pacific represents the fastest growing market for CDN and is expected to register a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of more than 30% during the analysis period.
What is the mobile applications market like?
Smartphones now account for 1 in 4 phones sold globally, and this number is rapidly increasing. Currently, the leading mobile platforms are iOS and Android, with about 70% of market share. Both OSes have global application delivery platforms with more than 400,000 iOS and 300,000 Android apps available for downloads or purchase from their respective app stores.
How about in Malaysia?
In Malaysia, 80% of content accessed comes from foreign developers. Users are generally willing to spend anywhere between RM3 to RM 60 on an iOS or Android apps. However, currently none of the top revenue-earning app developers are Malaysians. This fact can be changed if the right ideas are nurtured through proper training and funding.
