Achievements
Saladin: The Animated TV Series
A co-production between MDeC and Al-Jazeera Children's Channel, this CG-animated series has been slated to complete 26 episodes by 2010, with the first episodes to begin airing by late 2009. Saladin has also been critically acclaimed, and has won numerous awards at various animation festivals and exhibitions.
Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula
A homegrown production, Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula was the first Malaysian 3D animated film. Utilising local expertise, Geng was produced by 40 Malaysian animators at Les' Copaque Productions, and supported by a RM 1 million MOSTI E-content grant, the film went on to earn RM 6.3 million in ticket sales, and garnered rave reviews from critics.
The Empheria-Jia Yu Project
In order to create more airtime for Malaysian productions to be showcased, a collaboration with a prominent broadcast partner was launched in order to reach an audience of over 430 million Chinese viewers, with over 2600 hours dedicated to Malaysian content and productions.
